The usage statistics engine has been further enhanced with the incorporation of a suite of new functions that allow hits to be categorised according to country of origin.
Significant enhancements have been made to the Kontent system usage statistics engine that provides real-time usage stats on all aspects of your Kontent driven website.
File handling systems have been upgrded. It is now possible to associate files with particular paragraphs within a web page as well as with the web page itself.
Numerous enhancements to Kontent search engine including ability to collect and report on search specific statistics such as frequency of words searched for and failed searches.
Fingerprinting of uploaded files now occurs resulting in Kontent engine sending MIME types based on file content and not just file extension.
Editor upgraded with "formatter" functionality allowing multiple paragraph format changes within the one interface.
Administrators now have greater control over display area options, including the ability to modify display orders and priorities.
On-the-fly HTML morphing code has been added which allows Kontent to automatically transform embedded HTML into HTML output which can assist with user accessability guidelines compliance.
Files attached to publications are downloaded to users through a revised "file-pump". Files are not accessible to users through a direct hypertext link. Control over all aspects of file downloading is now possible.
Uploaded image handling has also been improved. Images are always stored on the server in their original format and if a user specifies different dimensions then a resized copy is produced for public display. The image can always be resized from the original without the loss of quality that might occur from resizing an already resized image.
Uploaded file handling has been improved so that the publications server now fingerprints each uploaded file to determine what type of file it is. Users can then see both the file type and the file size before they download the file.
Meta tag functions have been further refined to improve handling of Dublin Core metata classification system as well as a range of simpler metatag classifications for use with well known search engines.
Definitions functions added - allows terms to be defined on a per publication basis. Automatic hyperlinking of all occurances, first occurance or only square bracketed occurances are supported. Definitions can either be self contained, external URLs or a mixture of both.
Uploaded image handling improved - as part of the continuing development of Kontent we have upgraded its image handling capability. Image dimensions are now automatically determined at the appropriate Height and Width tags are generated automatically. In addition there is now provision for the HTML 4.0 tag "LongDesc" which allows a hyperlink to a more detailed description of an image for sight-impaired users.
The meta tag functions have been further enhanced to allow compliance with the AGLS modified Dublin Core metatag classification system.
Metatag functions introduced - allows any number of meta tag elements, element refinements, encoding schemes and value components. We can define the meta tags on a per site basis or you can choose from a range of pre-defined meta tag elements that facilitate the categorisation of your publications by search engines.
Table of contents function added - this function if activated for a publication will automatically generate a table of contents with internal links based on the headings included in the publication.
